As you start juicing you will want to design a juicing program that best suits your particular lifestyle and health goals. Begin simply by substituting a glass of freshly made juice for the coffee or other beverage you drink each morning. Within a short time you will begin to feel the real health benefits of juicing, including increased vigor and stamina, better immune function, and improved regularity. Then add a glass or two of juice in the afternoon or early evening for a natural pick-me-up. Consider putting fresh juice in a thermos and taking it with you to work or on short trips from home. We suggest that you start out with carrot juice, appropriately called the "king of vegetable juices". It is high in Beta-Carotene, Vitamins B, C, D, E, K and minerals Calcium, Potassium and many trace minerals. Carrot juice helps balance the body's pH by increasing alkalinity, cleanses the liver, and promotes normal elimination. It mixes well with all the other vegetable juices and several fruit juices, especially with apple. Next begin experimenting with other vegetable and fruit juices by selecting several juice combinations from the recipes available in "The Twenty Five Most Popular Juices" recipe article or those found in our huge selection of juicing books. You will find many that you and your family will especially love and enjoy. Remember that generally vegetable and fruit juices do not mix. Except for the recipes listed in the "Popular Juices" section, combine vegetable juices with other vegetable juices, and fruit juices wit other fruit juices. As long as you follow this general rule you will rarely go wrong.
