How Is This
System Different? |

How the Dual Filter Works
- 2 Cartridges - 5 Stages
|
Removes
Contaminants Sequentially through Cartridges "A" &
"B" |
Aquasana AQ4000's exclusive
dual cartridge, 5 stage, filtration system uses a combination
of the most advanced technologies available. This patented process
selectively removes contaminants sequentially, in a certain order,
based on their level of prevalence and degree of competitiveness.
This allows the system to achieve the full potential of each
stage of filtration.
- Stage 1: Removes sediment and
turbidity first. These are tiny microscopic particles that can
clog the pores of a filter media and reduce its ability to remove
the contaminants.
- Stage 2: Next chlorine is removed, the most concentrated
and the most competitive chemical in our water. This allows the
following stages to focus on the more difficult task of removing
lead and synthetic chemicals. After water has been through these
first two stages of filtration it then passes over to the "B"
cartridge.
- This pre-filter
Cartridge "A" reduces particles invisible to the human
eye (5 microns).
- Stage 3: First lead is removed
by a complex ion exchange process where lead ions are replaced
with potassium ions. This exchange is the most effective method
for removing dissolved lead and also enhances the natural mineral
balance of water. Potassium is also one of the minerals that
helps give water a natural spring water taste and a neutral pH.
- Stage 4: Next is the most challenging
and possibly the most important stage, the removal of synthetic
chemicals, like herbicides, pesticides and industrial solvents.
These are some of the most harmful contaminants found in our
water and also the most difficult to remove.
|
This
is where the AQ-4000 dual cartridge system really differs from
other brands. |
Because the competitive
influences of chlorine, lead and sediment have already been
removed, this Stage 4 can focus on the essential task of
eliminating organic chemical compounds, and does so to a higher
degree than any other product.
- Stage 5: In the final stage,
a 0.5 micron compressed carbon filter removes water borne parasites
or cysts like cryptosporidium and giardia. These chlorine resistant
organisms are commonly found in drinking water supplies, causing
flu like symptoms for most, but can be fatal to small children
and the elderly. This is an essential stage for complete contaminant
protection.
- In Cartridge
"B" the coconut shell carbon combines with potassium-charged
zeolite to extract lead and replace it with natural potassium
ions.
